Practice with the Carolina Ascent
Yesterday, Soccer Sheet had the opportunity to attend practice with the Carolina Ascent as they prepare for their final home match of the season next Saturday.
As we previously reported, five Carolina Ascent players are in the running for end-of-season statistical awards: Mia Corbin, Jill Aguilera, Audrey Harding, Taylor Porter, and Meagan McClelland.
Soccer Sheet spoke with captain Porter and Corbin after practice, and they were gracious enough to take the Soccer Sheet Lightning Round challenge. Watch below:

Nashville SC Supporters Group Cancel Tailgate Ahead of Tonight’s Match Charlotte FC
Nashville SC supporter group La Brigada De Oro announced on Friday that they are cancelling their regular festivities tonight in advance of Charlotte FC’s match in Nashville.
The Latin American “Barra” supporter group posted on Twitter/X that “At this most difficult time in our community. Our heart breaks at this injustice and goes out to so many families and friends being affected.” The statement is in response to increased ICE enforcement in Nashville and Tennessee.
The full statement from La Brigada is below:
SixOneFive Soccer has a more detailed report on the Supporters Group’s decision on their website.
Nashville SC press staff did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Can Charlotte Snap Losing Streak in Nashville?

Charlotte FC (6-4-1, 19 points) travel to Geodis Park at 8:30 PM EDT (7:30 PM local time) to face Nashville SC (5-4-2, 17 points). In the last meeting between the two teams at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte came back after going down in the first half to win 2-1. The victory was soured by a scary injury to Nashville SC center back Walker Zimmerman, who was accidentally concussed by Charlotte winger Kerwin Vargas.
Zimmerman is yet to appear for Nashville since the injury, and is still listed as unavailable by the club.
Meanwhile, after losing two MLS matches in a row, Charlotte is working to snap their losing streak despite significant injuries to their side. Here is Charlotte FC’s injury report for tonight:
OUT: Nimfasha Berchimas (foot)
OUT: Nathan Byrne (neck)
OUT: Brandon Cambridge (thigh)
OUT: Souleyman Doumbia (hamstring)
OUT: Jahlane Forbes (thigh)
QUESTIONABLE: Pep Biel (hamstring)
QUESTIONABLE: Tyger Smalls (knee)
We’ll be covering the match from the couch tonight, but please let us know if you’re going to the game in Tennessee!
