You need to do a little more research about Greensboro before you act like a promoter of football here. I guess you wish to be "clubby" about it. Besides having national talent at UNCG for decades including coaching and an amazing 156 club spring tournament for youth soccer, MacPherson sponsored at least a semi-pro team for a long time at Bryan Park.

Hey Spencer thanks for the comment. Just so you know, we aren't a "promoter," or a club, just a reader-supported soccer newsletter for the Carolinas.

As for the definition of "pro," while there have been semi pro organizations in the Triad previously (and stellar organizations like the Fusion), Carolina Core is unique in that it is in a league recognized as Division III professional within the U.S. Soccer pyramid, equivalent to USL 1. That is a novel development for the region as the only other DIII professional clubs in NC are in Wake & Mecklenburg counties.

Thanks for adding your perspective!
